What it checks

Amazon's listing rules, in one place

These are the rules that most often get listings suppressed or rejected. Amazon updates them regularly, so confirm anything critical in Seller Central.

Titles

  • 75 characters maximum, including spaces, in every category except media (books, music, video), since 27 July 2026
  • Amazon's AI is gradually rewriting longer titles, so it's better to shorten them yourself
  • No ! $ ? _ { } ^ ¬ ¦ unless they're part of the brand name
  • No word used more than twice (small words like “and” or “for” excepted)
  • No promotional phrases such as “free shipping” or “best seller”

Item highlights

  • Up to 125 characters, shown under the title on desktop and mobile
  • Searchable, and weighted the same as the title
  • Use it for details moved out of the title: materials, sizes, use cases

Bullet points

  • At least 3 bullets; 5 is standard
  • Each bullet more than 10 and fewer than 255 characters
  • No emojis, checkmarks or decorative symbols
  • No links, email addresses, phone numbers, guarantees or refund promises

Backend search terms

  • Under 250 bytes in most marketplaces; accented letters use 2 bytes
  • No need for commas or for words already in your title or bullets
  • No ASINs, competitor brands or temporary words like “new” or “sale”

Main image

  • Pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255)
  • Product fills 85% or more of the frame
  • 1,000 px or more on the longest side so shoppers can zoom

FAQ

About this checker

Is this tool connected to Amazon?

No. It checks the text and image you paste in, entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to Amazon, and you don't need to sign in or share your Seller Central account.

Does a high score mean my listing will rank?

No. The score shows whether your listing follows Amazon's published content rules, which helps it avoid suppression and reads better to shoppers. Ranking also depends on sales, reviews, price, relevance and advertising.

Do these limits apply to every marketplace?

The title, bullet and image rules apply across Amazon's main marketplaces. The 250-byte search term limit applies to most marketplaces, including the US, UK, EU, Canada and Australia; a few, such as Japan, allow more. Some categories have their own extra rules, so check the style guide for your category in Seller Central.

Is my data stored?

No. The checks run in your browser and nothing you paste is saved. If you join the waitlist, we keep only your email address.

Can you fix the issues for me?

Yes. We rewrite titles and Item highlights in bulk and offer monthly catalog management that checks every listing each week for unwanted changes. Start with a free check of up to 3 ASINs.
